SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco women's tennis team snapped a two-match skid Thursday afternoon, defeating Montana State, 6-1, at Golden Gate Park. The match was the first of a stretch of three matches in three days, including Friday's conference clash.

With the win, the Dons (7-5, 0-2 WCC) have already surpassed last season's total of six wins.

USF took care of business early, notching the first six points of the contest to seal the Dons victory.

Andrea Ka and Sofia Holmberg posted a pair of dominant victories on the day, with the duo teaming up at No. 1 doubles to record an 8-1 victory and dropping just one set between the two in singles play.

“We're just taking each match one at a time since we are right in the thick of a lot of matches,” said USF coach Hilary Somers. “We're trying to stay present, focused and healthy.”

The Dons play host to the BYU Cougars (6-5, 0-0 WCC) in their third WCC match of the year on Friday, March 22 at Golden Gate Park beginning at 1 p.m.
