LOS ANGELES – The University of San Francisco women's tennis team earned a split on its Southern California road trip, besting No. 61 Loyola Marymount, 5-2, Saturday afternoon at the LMU Tennis Center.
The Dons (11-6, 2-3 WCC) got off to a slow start against the eight-place Lions (7-7, 0-2 WCC), dropping the first doubles match before storming back to take the next two to earn the first point of the day.
Sofia Holmberg got USF back on track in singles play by downing LMU's Claudia Razzeto 6-2, 6-1 after the Dons had lost the first two singles matches of the afternoon.
USF would go on to win the next four singles matches to seal its second WCC victory of the season, highlighted by Marina NIkolic's strong showing in both doubles and singles.

Marina Nikolic had a great day and played very well under pressure on the big points. She really rose to the occasion today.”
The Dons return to the friendly confines of Golden Gate Park on Thursday, April 4 at 1 p.m. when they play host to the Oregon Ducks (11-5, 1-4 Pac-12).
