SPOKANE, Wash. – The University of San Francisco women's tennis team closed out the regular season on a high note, knocking off Gonzaga by a score of 6-1 Saturday afternoon at the Spokane Racquet Club.
The Dons (13-8, 4-4 WCC) dropped the doubles point to Gonzaga (9-12, 0-8 WCC), but stormed back to sweep the singles behind dominant performances from
Marina Nikolic,
Brooke Irish and
Yurie Hashiguchi.
Andrea Ka's 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 victory over Gonzaga's Katie Edwards improved her team-leading record to 16-5 and capped off a fantastic freshman regular season campaign on the Hilltop. Ka's accolades also include being the only Don to own a winning record (5-3) in WCC singles action and being the only USF player land a spot in the national rankings.

Sofia Holmberg (13-7), NIkolic (12-7) and Irish (11-9) finished the season with double-digit win tallies for USF.
The Dons will head south to take part in the 2013 WCC Championships at the University of San Diego from April 24-27. Tournament seeding will be announced upon the completion of the remaining WCC matches.
