AUSTIN, Texas –
Steven Garboden finished his quarterfinal heat of the 1,500 meters in 10th place Saturday evening at Mike A. Myers Track.
The senior from North Bend, Ore., completes his final collegiate competition as his second trip to the NCAA Preliminary Championships comes to a close. Garboden clocked in at 3:52.05 in his heat, where the top five finishers advanced to the NCAA Finals in Eugene, Ore.
Garboden was the last male standing for the University of San Francisco track and field team for the second consecutive season. He leaves the program etched in the school record books, holding the top time in the mile, 1,500 meters, 3,000 meters and as a member of the record-holding distance medley relay team.
