SAN FRANCISCO – Head women's golf coach Sarah Glynn has announced Kimberly Liu (Pleasanton, CA / Amador Valley HS) and Vanessa Ha (Allen, TX / Plano HS) have signed national letters of intent to attend the University of San Francisco beginning next fall.

Liu is a two-time East Bay Athletic League Most Valuable Player at Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton, Calif., where she played for head coach Clark Fuller.  She had a pair of impressive first place finishes this past fall at the Nor Cal High School Invitational at Poppy Ridge in Livermore and at the North Coast Section Championship held at Peacock Gap Golf and Country Club in San Rafael, Calif.  She finished 14th at the CIF Northern California Championships held at the Spring Creek Golf and Country club in November. Liu also was a member of the Northern California team at the 2013 Mary Cave Cup held in San Diego.

Born in Reston, Va., Liu also competed in national and international karate events beginning when she was six years old. She also is a gifted pianist.

"What I love about Kimberly is her passion for the sport and her drive to improve every single day," said Glynn. "This is what ultimately attracted me to her during the recruiting process. Her whole game is solid, but what I am most excited about is her potential for growth in the next 4 years. She is a hard worker and I really admire that characteristic about her."

Ha, who attends Plano (Texas) High School, is currently ranked 70th among all high school players by Junior Golf Scoreboard. She finished the 2013 season with five victories, including three first place finishes in American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) events. Ha won the Fourth Annual Texas Girls' Invitational held at the Bentwater Yacht & Country Club in September with a 5-under score of 139 (67-72). It was her second Legends Junior Tour victory of the season following her first place finish at the Jimmy Demaret Junior Classic. She also earned a third place finish this fall at the Futures Champions Golf Texas Championships held at the Country Club at Twin Creeks in her hometown of Allen. She also competed at the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship last summer in Norman, Okla.

"Vanessa has a resume full of strong tournament experience," said Glynn. "She knows how to win under pressure as she proved this summer with three AJGA victories. I can tell that she has the drive to win at the college level. She will be an immediate impact player for our young team."
