Sarah Glynn Inducted Into Cal's Hall of Fame - University of San Francisco Athletics

USF's women's golf coach Sarah (Huarte) Glynn, who captured the 2004 NCAA individual championship as a senior at Cal, was one of seven former Golden Bear greats who were inducted into the school's athletic hall of fame during a formal ceremony held Friday night at the Greek Orthodox Church Conference Center in Oakland.

Glynn joined Tom Beach (men's gymnastics), Natalie Coughlin (women's swimming & diving), Anthony Ervin (men's swimming & diving), Grace Upshaw (women's track & field), Ray Willsey (football) and Rick Cronk (service award) in Cal's 2014 hall of fame class

Glynn became the first golfer in Cal history to win the NCAA women's golf championship when she fired a 10-under par 278 at the Auburn (Ala.) Golf Club. Following her achievement, she received the Honda Award, which is presented to the nation's outstanding women's golfer. As a senior, Glynn established a then-school record 73.82 scoring average and earned first team All-America honors. She completed her Cal career as a two-time All-American and was a three-time All-Pac-10 selection. Glynn also was chosen to represent the United States at the 2004 Curtis Cup. A three-time Pac-10 All-Academic selection, Glynn played three years on the LPGA and Futures Tours.

"I am entremely honored to be an inductee into Cal's Athletic Hall of Fame," said Glynn, who is in her fifth season heading up USF's women's golf program. "I learned and grew so much as a person in my four years as a student-athlete at Cal and I only hope that I can pass some of that wisdom to my players so they can make the best out of their college experience here at USF."
