Mabel Wong, a senior at Oakdale (Calif.) High School, has signed a national letter of intent to play golf at the University of San Francisco next fall.

One of the top junior players in Northern California, Wong posted three wins on the Junior Golf Association of Northern California tour last season, including a first place showing at the prestigious JGANC/NCGA Nor Cal Players Championship on Rancho Canada's East Course in Carmel. She also finished first at the TPC Stonebrae junior Open and the Bumgardner Junior Open at Del Rio Country Club in Modesto. Wong was the JGANC Northern California Points Champion and earned JGANC Player of the Year honors in 2012. She also represented Northern California in the U.S. Girls' Juniors and the 2013 Girls' America's Cup.

"Mabel will be a great addition to our roster next season," said head coach Sarah Glynn. "Her fundamentals are very strong and is not lacking in any one area. Her consistency and mental toughness are her biggest strengths. I am excited to see where she might fit in our lineup next fall."

USF will open its spring season at the Peg Barnard Invitational, scheduled for Feb. 14-15 at Stanford Golf Course.
