PRINCEVILLE, Kauai -- USF's men's golf team posted its lowest round of the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational on Wednesday to finish 14th in the 15 team field.

The Dons carded a 4-over final round score of 292 to finish at 883 (+19) for the 54-hole tournament, one stroke ahead of 15th place Hawaii.

Georgia Tech won the event with 55-under score of 809 after the 11th-ranked Yellow Jackets posted a 24-under score of 264 on Wednesday. Arizona State finished a distant second at 824 followed by Louisville at 826.

Frederick Wedel of Pepperdine closed with a 69 to complete a wire-to-wire victory in the individual competition. Wedel strung together rounds of 63, 64 and 69 to finish 20-under for the tournament at 196, good for a three stroke victory over Ollie Schniederjans of Georgia Tech and Grant Forrest of San Diego.

Sebastian Crookall-Nixon was USF's top finisher, tying for 39th at 215 (-1) after a closing round 69.

Max Alcorn's final round 73 was highlighted by an eagle 2 on the par 4 14th hole. The sophomore finished at even par 216 for the tournament, good for a share of 42nd place.

Senior Jobim Carlos tied for 63rd at 222 (+6) after carding a final round 75. Carlos was 3-over par after five holes but settled down to play his last 15 holes at even par.

In his first start of the season, freshman Leo Kitahara tied for 70th at 225 (+9), closing with a 75 in a round that included five birdies.

Freshmen Henry Chung (74) and Jalen Griffin tied for 76th and 79th, respectively.

The tournament wraps up the Dons' fall season. USF will return to action at the Barona Creek Invitational, Feb. 9-10 in San Diego.
