SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Propelled by a perfect day from USF's No. 5 team, the San Francisco sand volleyball team earned a split Saturday at the Sacramento State Invitational.

The Dons duo of Inbar Vinarsky and Emily Reed nabbed a pair of wins, starting off the day with USF's lone point against Pacific. The tandem defeated Jessica Diederich and Francesca Zaragoza with a dominating 21-5, 21-15 victory in the Dons' early match at the Sacramento Softball Complex.

In USF's second match of the day, Vinarsky and Reed again earned a straight-set win to open the match against Cal Poly. The quick victory was a sign of things to come in the second match, as every pair to take the sand dispatched its Mustang opponents in just two sets apiece.

The Dons improved their season record to 3-4 after the trio of duals in Sacramento, and USF's record in the Northern California Sand Volleyball Consortium stands at 2-2. Reed and Vinarsky now hold a team-best 5-2 record, with No. 4 pair of Rebecca Kopilovitch and Anja Segota sliding in with a mark of 4-3.

Next, USF competes against newest consortium member, San Jose State, and Santa Clara Wednesday in Los Gatos, Calif. First serve between the Dons and the Spartans is scheduled for noon, with the Dons and Broncos taking the sand at 3 p.m.
