YORBA LINDA, Calif. -- San Francisco's women's golf team shot a final round 309 (+21) and finished in eighth place at The Gold Rush which was held at the Yorba Linda Country Club.

The Dons' 309 on Tuesday came on the heels of rounds of 319 and 314 over the first 36 holes yesterday. At 942 (+78), USF finished five strokes out of seventh place, occupied by Cal Poly at 937 (+73).

Gonzaga won the tournament with a 54-hole team score of 893 (+29), good for a four stroke victory over hard-charging Long Beach State, which shot a final round 292 to finish at 897.

UC Riverside and Cal State-Fullerton tied for third at 913 (+49).

Alice Kim of Gonzaga captured medalist honors with a score of 215 (-1), earning a two stroke victory over teammate Ciera Min and Rochelle Chan of Long Beach State.

Alision Lillie, playing near her hometown of Fullerton, earned a top-20 finish after a final round 75 left her tied for 18th at 231 (+15). Lillie was even par through 12 holes but three late bogeys led to a 3-over 75. The freshman had nothing worse than a bogey on her card for the 54-hole event.

Ayaka Suzki tied for 24th at 233 (+17) after shooting a final round 78. Suzuki got off to a slow start and was +5 after her first nine holes, but was just 1-over after making the turn.

Clare Sorensen birdied her final two holes en route to closing round 78, which left her tied for 41st at 240 (+24).

Emelie Lundstrom tied for 45th at 243 after shooting a final round 82, while Victoria House tied for 48th at 244 (+28) following a 78 on Tuesday.

USF will return to action next week at the West Coast Conference Championships, which get underway on Monday in Bremerton, Wash.
