SAN FRANCISCO - Continuing its ongoing committment to achieve the "Four Pillars of Success," University of San Francisco Athletics donated over 20 boxes of new and used sports apparel to the St. Anthony Foundation of San Francisco as part of a year-end clothes drive.
All 15 of USF's athletic programs and over 200 student-athletes donated at least one piece of their personal athletic wear while department staff members also made significant contributions.
Baseball players Logan West and Derek Atkinson, and assistant coach Steve Domecus personally delivered all of the items of clothing on behalf of the athletic department and its student-athletes.
"We are very pleased to partner with the St. Anthony's Foundation to help clothe the people in need throughout San Francisco," said USF's director of athletics Scott Sidwell. "I'm very proud of our student-athletes, coaches and staff for taking the initiative to create positive change in our city."
Founded in 1950, the St. Anthony Foundation is a social service agency located in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood that strives to "feed, heal, shelter, clothe and lift the spirits of those in need and to create a society where all people flourish."
