Final Individual ResultsSEASIDE, Calif. -- USF's men's golf team shot a final round 292 on Tuesday to secure a third place finish at the Saint Mary's Invitational held at the Bayonet and Black Horse Courses in Seaside.
After rounds of 297 and 282 on Monday, the Dons finished the 54-hole event at 871 (+7), seven strokes behind first place San Diego (864). The Toreros shot a final round 289 on the Bayonet Course to edge Saint Mary's by one shot for the team title.
Fresno State finished fourth at (877) while Santa Clara rounded out the top five at 878.
USF senior
Jobim Carlos, who shot a final round 70 on the challenging Bayonet Course, finished second in the individual competition, one stroke behind medalist Mathias Dahl of San Diego. Carlos' round was highlighted by a eagle 3 on the par-5 first hole, which helped him make the turn at 1-under for his final round. After making a bogey on the 15th hole, Carlos finished with birdies on 17 and 18 for a final round 70, which left him at 6-under (210) for the event.
Freshman
Henry Chung finished 14th at 218 (+2) following a final round 76.
Sophomore
Max Alcorn tied for 26th with a 6-over score of 222 after carding a final round 75.
Freshman
Jalen Griffin shot a final round 74 to finish at 8-over 224 for the tournament, good for a tie for 35th place.
Sebastian Crookall-Nixon's final round 74 was the team's second lowest round on the day and left the junior tied for 38th place at 225 (+9).
Freshman
Ashton Silk, playing as an individual, tied for 88th at 241 (+25) following a final round 79.
The Dons will pick up their fall schedule at the Wyoming Southern Dunes Invitational, slated for Oct. 6-7 in Maricopa, Ariz.
