Long Beach, Calif- San Francisco's women's tennis came short against the undefeated No. 41 Long Beach State, 5-2.
Although the Dons could not win the doubles point, they put up a strong fight. The third doubles duo,
Thyra Taune and
Genevieve McCloskey, made Long Beach State work for their lead in a back-to-back match, 8-6.
The first win for USF in singles play was No. 114
Marina Nikolic who defeated Hayley Thompson, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-2). Following Nikolic and Ka, who was defeated by No. 99 Maeva Razakasoa, 6-4, 6-2,
Ines Teixeira served-up her first win of the spring slate, 6-1, 3-6, 2-0, against Laura Eales.
The Dons will head back to home court advantage at the Olympic Club against UC Davis on February 21.
