Final Team and Individual ResultsPALM DESERT, Calif. -- USF's men's golf team carded a final round 307 (+12) at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate Sunday afternoon at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, which earned the Dons a tie for 15th place at 907 (+43).
The Dons strung together rounds of 306, 301 and 300 for its final 43-over score of 907, which left USF tied wth UC Riverside and Cal Poly for 15th place in the 24-team field.
TCU (855) shot a final round five-under 283 to overtake Texas Tech (856) to win the team title by one stroke over the rival Red Raiders. Denver finished third, two stroke off the pace at 857.
Clement Sordet of Texas Tech won the team title with a 54-hole score of 205 (-11), good for a four stroke victory over Paul Barjo of TCU (209).
Henry Chung was the Dons' top finisher, earning a share of 50th place with a 54-hole total of 225 (+9). The freshman made a birdie on his first hole but three bogeys on the front and a double bogey on the backside led to a four over 76.
Jobim Carlos rebounded from rounds of 83 and 76 to shoot a final round 71, jumping 36 spots up the leader board to tie for 77th place at 230 (+14).
Senior
Emil Liljeroth was part of a large pack at 230 (+14) that tied for 77th place. Liljeroth made the turn at one-over but made four bogeys coming in for a final round 77.
Sophomore
Max Alcorn tied for 87th at 231 (+15) afer carding a final round 76, while freshman
Jalen Griffin slipped into a tie for 115h at 237 (+21) following a final round 81.
USF will return to action at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate Invitational, set for March 6-7 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
