
Dons Advance to Semis at UOP Invitational

Stockton, Calif. - In the first day of match play at the UOP Invitational, the Dons picked up a 4-0 shutout against Hawaii at the Brookside Country Club, advancing them to semifinals action.
WCC Doubles of the Week, Bernardo Saraiva and Nils Skajaa, remain undefeated as they picked up their fifth win of the season against Hawaii's top doubles team, Nils Schuhmann and Carter Lam, 6-4. Vasco Valverde and Thomas Takemoto downed Marcel Chan and Joakim Pinola in a quick set of 6-1.
Ahead 1-0, USF remained solid to finish off the match with all student athletes claiming their matches in two sets. James Tallman started the winning streak as he won his match 6-0, 6-4, against Carter Lam. Saraiva followed suit winning his first set 6-0, and claiming the second set, 6-3. Saraiva's undefeated record for the season is now 6-0.
Boosting his confidence in singles play, Christian Brockstedt closed out the match for USF at number six singles with a 6-3, 6-1 win against Joakim Pinola.
The Dons will take to the courts against Fresno State in the semifinals with location and play time to be determined later this evening.
