SAN FRANCISCO – The Dons just missed the mark in tennis play this Friday afternoon against No.41 Pepperdine as they fall 4-2 at the Olympic Club.
 
USF's overall record this season is 9-7 and 2-3 in the West Coast Conference, earning wins from Santa Clara and the Pacific.
 
Pepperdine gained a one-point advantage earning the doubles point against USF. However, Christian Brockstedt and James Tallman dominated their match at second doubles against Tom Hill and Pedro Iamachkine 6-1.
 
In singles play, two Dons claimed their matches.             James Tallman left no chance for Rakshay Thakkar to take the win as he closed out his match 6-0, 6-2 in third singles.  Tallman's overall record for the season is now 9-2.
 
Skajaa claimed the second match for the Green and Gold against Stefan Menichella taking the first set 6-3, and after falling in the second 4-6 he came back in the third set to finish 6-2. With this match, Skajaa has a winning record of 2-1 in WCC competition.
 
"I give a lot of credit to the Pepperdine team today for earning the well fought victory," said head coach Pablo Pires de Almeida. "Our guys battled with a lot of tenacity but were not able to be clean enough in the end of sets in doubles and singles to close matches down. We look forward to another great battle tomorrow against LMU."

The Dons will continue in WCC action as they take on Loyola Marymount Saturday at 1 pm at the California Club.
