CHANDLER, Ariz. -- USF men's golf team put together its third straight under par round at the Wymoing Cowboy Classic, settling for a sixth place finish in the 18-team event held at the Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Ariz.

USF carded a final round 287 (-1) on Tuesday to finish 851 (-13) for the 54-hole event, the team's best score against par this season. McNeese State won the team event with a 26-under score of 838, earning a two stroke victory over Idaho (840). Colorado finished third at 842 (-22). USF finished four back of fourth plaec Gonzaga (-17) and were 10 strokes clear of Santa Clara (861).

Jared du Toit of Idaho, Devon Purser of Weber State and Robert McIntyre of McNeese State tied for first place at 9-under 207, with Purser prevailing in a three-way playoff on the 18th hole.

Jobim Carlos was USF's top finisher at 2-under 214, good for a tie for 28th place. The senior carded a final round 73 after posting scores of 71 and 70 on Monday.

Sebastian Crookall-Nixon fired a final round 68 to move into a tie for 33rd place at 215 (-1). The Englishman had just one bogey on his Tuesday card which included three birdies and an eagle.

Max Alcorn was also part of the pack that tied for 33rd place at 1-under 215. The sophomore, who opened the tournament with a 5-under 67, closed with a 73 today.

Freshman Jalen Griffin tied for 38th at even par 216 after posting a final round 73.

Senior Emil Liljeroth's final round 77 earned him a share of 55th place at 218 (+2).

USF will now set its sights on the West Coast Conference Championships, which get underway on Tuesday at the Saticoy Golf Club in Somis, Calif.
