Senior Emelie Lundstrom, junior Ayaka Suzuki and sophomore Vanessa Ha were named to the West Coast Conference's preseason women's golf team, which was released today by the conference office.

USF's three selections were a conference high, along with BYU. The Dons tied with BYU in the preseason coaches poll. Each school garnered nine points, trailing only defending champion Pepperdine (16) and Gonzaga (12). Last season, the Dons finished second at the WCC Championships, 14 strokes behind Pepperdine, which claimed its 14th consecutive team title.

Lundstrom, a mainstay in the Dons' lineup each of the last three seasons, finished with a career-best stroke average of 76.03 last season. She finished the season strong with top-10 showings at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic (t-9) and WCC Championships, where she tied for third at the demanding Saticoy Golf Club.

Suzuki landed first team All-WCC honors as a sophomore after leading the Dons in stroke average (75.35). She recorded five top-20 finishes in her 10 events, including a sixth place showing at the WCC Championships.

Ha enters the her sophomore season fresh off a solid run at the U.S. Women's Amateur, where she advanced to the round of 32 in the match play portion of the event. She made an immediate impact on the team as a freshman, posting the squad's second-lowest stroke average over 11 events. Ha also recorded two of USF's three lowest rounds of the season at the BYU Entrada Classic, where she followed up a two-under 70 in the first round with a four-under 68 in the second. She held the 36-hole lead in the event before ultimately finishing tied for fifth.

USF will open its fall campaign on Monday at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic hosted by Colorado State in Fort Collins.
