USF to Compete in Mountain-Pacific Invite

SAN FRANCISCO –– The USF men's tennis team will travel to Albuquerque this weekend to compete in the Mountain-Pacific Invitational, held on the University of New Mexico campus.

Last year, the Dons took first place in the tournament, beating Hawaii, Fresno State and New Mexico to win the championship. In the finals against the Lobos, Thomas Takemoto clinched the match with a three-set win at No. 4 singles to seal the victory for his team.

The Green and Gold look to defend their title this weekend and will take on the host team, New Mexico, in the first round match on Friday at 11 a.m. PT.

Other teams in the field include Grand Canyon, Santa Clara, Utah State, Hawaii and Pacific. With a win on Friday, the Dons will face the winner of Grand Canyon/Santa Clara at 6 p.m. the same evening.
