Moraga, Calif. –– Playing against their Bay Area rival in Moraga on Friday afternoon, the Dons were unable to steal a road victory and lost 4-0 to Saint Mary's in the WCC match.

The Gaels quickly went ahead in the doubles matches, with Clementine Clement and Emma Critser beating
Genevieve McCloskey and Hanna Börjeson 6-1 on the No. 2 court. Behind the strong No. 1 team of
Andrea Ka and
Thyra Taune, USF was able to even things up with a 6-2 win against Jana McCord and Jamie Pawid. With the doubles point on the line, the Gaels' Parminder Kaur and Kareena Manji took the No. 3 match in a close one, edging
Sofia Holmberg and
Shanna Dos Santos, 6-4.

In singles play, the Dons couldn't find a rhythm as Saint Mary's swept the No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 matches all in straight sets to claim the WCC win. Dos Santos, playing on the No. 4 court, fell to Clement 6-2, 6-3. Ahead 2-0, Saint Mary's continued to build off their momentum as Manji took down Holmberg at No. 5, 6-1, 6-3. With a chance to clinch the overall match, Critser beat Borjeson 6-3, 6-3 to earn the victory.

With the loss, the Dons fall to 2-10 on the year and 0-3 in conference play. The Green and Gold will hit the road for a northwest swing next weekend, facing Portland at 12 p.m. on April 1 and Gonzaga at 1 p.m. on April 2.
