Skajaa and Valverde Earn All-WCC Honors

SAN FRANCISCO – USF's top doubles team of seniors Nils Skajaa and Vasco Valverde were named to the All-West Coast Conference second team while Skajaa also picked up second team honors as a singles player.
 
The Skajaa-Valverde tandem combined for a 15-10 overall record this season, including a 4-2 mark against WCC competition. They closed out the season by winning eight of their last 10 matches, including the last four in a row. In October, the duo teamed to win the prestigious ITA Northwest Regional Doubles Championship in Seattle, Wash., marking the second consecutive year a USF team won the tournament title following Skajaa's and Bernardo Saraiva's championship run in 2015.
 
Sem Verbeek of Pacific was named the WCC's Player of the Year while Santa Clara's Robert Seby captured WCC Freshman of the Year honors. Ryan Redondo of Pacific was named the WCC's Coach of the Year.
