Final Team and Individual ResultsCHANDLER, Ariz. -- USF finished tied with Southern Utah for 18th place at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, which was held on the Cattail Course at the Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler.
The Dons shot a team score of 299 (+11) and finished the 54-hole event 25-over par score of 889.
Colorado carded a final 7-under round of 281 to overtake Sam Houston State for the team title. The Buffaloes finished at 843 (-21) for the tournament, good for an eight-stroke victory over the Bearkats at 851 (-13) after a 5-over 293 on Tuesday.
Four players -- Jordan Gumberg (Arizona), Brandon Bauman (UC Santa Barbara), Jake McCroy (San Houston State) and Jeremy Paul (Colorado) -- tied for the individual lead at 11-under 205.
Sebastian Crookall-Nixon turned in an even par round of 72 and finished 1-under for the tournament at 215, good for a share of 21st place.
Jalen Griffin tied for 52nd at 5-over 221 after the sophomore closed with a 72. Griffin made bogeys on his first two holes but got back into red numbers with birdies on his sixth, 12th and 16th holes of the day, but moved back to even with a bogey on his final hole of the day.
Kraig McLeod tied for 67th at 224 (+8) after a final round 75, which could have been better if not for a pair of triple bogeys on par 5's.
Freshman
Storm Lee, who shot a 77 on Tuesday, tied for 99th at 232 while
Mathias Wentjarvi finished 105th after a final round 78 left the Sweded at 236 for the tournament.
The Dons will return to action at the WCC Championships which get underway on April 18 at Blackhawk Country Club in Danville.
