Jack Boland '78, founder and president of Baker Street Advertising Agency, will be presented with the Jim Brovelli Award at the Second Annual Dons Tip-Off Gala, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 21 at Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco.

The Jim Brovelli Award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding commitment, loyalty, dedication and service to USF's basketball programs over the years. The award is named in honor of Jim Brovelli, whose hall of fame contributions to USF basketball as a player, coach and broadcaster spans six decades.

Boland has been a part of leading advertising agencies during his 35-year career. Prior to launching Baker Street, he owned Pickett Advertising and also spent over 20 years at Foote, Cone and Belding, where he rose to chief executive officer of the company's San Francisco agency. His passion for sports marketing has led to business relationships with various Bay Area professional sports teams, including the three-time World Champion San Francisco Giants.

Throughout his career, Boland has remained actively involved with USF. He has been a part of several committees focused on marketing and communications and has also served on various University search executive search committees. For his on-going dedication to USF, Boland will also be presented with the Alessandri Service Award at Saturday night's Alumni Awards Gala.

The Dons Tip-Off Gala will be held on Friday, Oct. 21 at the Julia Morgan Ballroom at 465 California Street in the heart of San Francisco's Financial District. The cocktail reception begins at 6:00 p.m. followed by a dinner celebrating USF's men's and women's basketball teams. KPIX's Vern Glenn will serve as master of ceremonies while NBA Hall of Famer Rick Barry will be the featured speaker.

First-year USF head coaches Kyle Smith and
Molly Goodenbour will offer a preview of their upcoming seasons and players from both programs will also be on hand.

Individual tickets are priced at $250. The "Name Your Table" option for eight guests is priced at $2500. In additional, Celebrity Tables for eight, which provides the opportunity to dine with Barry, former USF great Bill Cartwright or either of USF's head coaches, can be purchased for $5000. In the spirit of engagement, student-athletes from both programs will be on hand to meet, greet and dine with the attendees. Each table will also include seating for a student-athlete, member of the coaching staff or representatives of the athletic department.
