LONG BEACH, Calif. – Hanna Borjeson headlined the San Francisco women's tennis team's match against Long Beach State, notching the win over the 49ers to earn the Dons' lone point in the match at the Rhodes Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
The sophomore from Gothenburg, Sweden rallied for the 7-6 (7-1), 2-6, 10-5 victory over Natalia Munoz from the No. 5 position to earn the point in the 6-1 defeat. After reeling off a straight-set victory against UC Irvine's Stephanie Hazell on Saturday, Borjeson now stands at 3-1 in dual matches on the year.
The remainder of the scoring came on the day came from the 49ers, who started the match with the doubles point victory and kept the points rolling throughout. The youthful team now stands at 1-4 on the season.
The Dons continue non-conference play this week, with a pair of home matches at The Olympic Club. First, USF takes on Cal Poly on Saturday at 3 p.m., before facing Northern Arizona Sunday at 3 p.m.
