COACHES CORNER
Thoughts on Santa Barbara

"This will be a sort of "Welcome to Division 1 tennis" event. Santa Barbara is pretty good — they just beat USC last week, handedly. They are a top team, probably a top-30 team, and definitely an NCAA team. This will be our first introduction to that level of tennis this year so it'll be a good challenge for the gals to see where they are." — head coach Peter Bartlett

Challenges
"Our biggest goal leading into that game is getting healthy. We did not play a full lineup of healthy players in the Dominican match, but we were deep enough to get away with that. With Santa Barbara however, that will be the goal for that weekend — to try to go in healthy and see what we can do against an opponent that might be better than us at first glance. It should be fun to kick that part of the season off." — Bartlett

Thoughts on Cal Poly
"This is our biggest challenge and we are focused on the Cal Poly match. This is the match where they are right at our level, but in general, we are just trying to get healthy. The girls feel pretty confident." — Bartlett

USF HISTORY
USF has played in one game so far this season and head into the match against Santa Barbara 1-0. The two teams last faced each other in the 2015-16 season when the Gauchos defeated the Dons 1-6. USF recorded a 7-0 shutout over UCSB in 2014.

The Dons have a strong record over the Mustangs, having not dropped a game against them since 2012.

UP NEXT
The Dons will be at the Olympic Club on Friday, Feb. 16 for a match up against San Jose State University. First serve is set for 12 p.m.
