SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco volleyball team has added a dynamic setter to its 2018 signing class, as Grace Talpash out of Temecula, Calif., signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Dons in 2019.
Talpash comes out of Great Oak High School in Temecula, where she and her Wolfpack team went 22-9 this fall and made the first round of the California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section Division I playoffs. Talpash was a two-sport letterwinner at Great Oak HS, also playing for the varsity golf team.
"Grace will inject an overall competitiveness into the Dons volleyball program while working to be on the court in a setter's role," said San Francisco head coach Frank Lavrisha. "She is a great product of the Southern California Forza One Volleyball Club. We look forward to Grace's contributions in building our volleyball program within the West Coast Conference."
Talpash was a multi-time all-tournament player this fall with the Wolfpack, landing on both the Dave Mohs All-Tournament team and the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions All-Tournament team in August. She also served as the team captain at Great Oak HS.
Talpash could also swing the sticks on the golf course, being named a first team all-Southwestern League player in 2015.
Talpash will join an already-deep setter core for the Dons that includes sophomore Erin Anthony and freshman Ally Wada. Both have already logged more than 390 assists each this year, with Anthony eclipsing the 1,400 career assists mark in just her second year.
