SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Three San Francisco cross country runners were represented on the 2018 West Coast Conference All-Academic Teams announced Monday, along with seven other Dons earning Honorable Mention accolades, to give USF 10 WCC All-Academic awards for this fall.

WOMEN

The USF women led the 10-member WCC All-Academic Team with the only two 4.00 GPAs to be named to the squad. Tatjana Schulte earned her third WCC All-Academic Team nod with her 4.00 GPA in International Business. She was one of just two honorees this year with three WCC All-Academic Team appearances in their career and one of five with repeat appearances. Lizzie Bird also landed on the WCC All-Academic Team with her 4.00 GPA in International Studies.

Schulte was USF's top runner in both meets she ran in this season. She placed sixth at the WCC Championship on Oct. 27 and was just outside the top-50 at the Pre-Nationals Invitational in Wisconsin on Oct. 13. Bird debuted mid-season and immediately made an impact as one of the Dons' top-three runners. She was one of four Dons among the top-15 at the WCC Championship and finished among the top-100 in her season debut at the Pre-Nationals Invitational.

Josephine Brysting (3.78 GPA, Biotechnology grad student), Emma Stahr (3.34 GPA, Kinesiology) and Alena Ulrichova (3.85 GPA, Asia Pacific Studies grad student) were all named WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention. All three have been a part of the Dons' scoring top-five during 2018 and all three competed for the Dons at the WCC Championship.

MEN

Jack Rowe earned a spot on the 2018 WCC All-Academic Team for the men, boasting a 3.58 GPA in his Sport Management graduate program while also slotting in as the Dons' No. 2 runner all season long. He never finished lower than 42nd as an individual while lowering his time at every meet. He finished fifth at the season-opening USF Invitational on Sept. 1 and grabbed a top-20 spot at the WCC Championship on Oct. 27.

Scott Halsted (3.35 GPA, Asia Pacific Studies grad student), Daniel Maneloveg (3.27 GPA, Politics), Caleb McClain (3.77 GPA, Politics) and Hugh Nicklason (3.80 GPA, International Studies) all earned WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention accolades. All four of them featured as part of USF's top-seven during the season, and all four competed at the WCC Championship on Oct. 27.

COMING UP

The Dons next compete at the NCAA West Region Championship on Friday at Haggin Oaks Golf Course in Sacramento, Calif.
