
Dons Have Four Move Up Leaderboard on Final Day

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The University of San Francisco women's golf team played its best 18 holes of the tournament on the final day of the Battle of the Rock Invitational hosted by UC Riverside at the Oak Quarry Golf Club. The Dons had four players move up the leader board as they finished ninth overall with a team score of 900 (302-300-298).
Vanessa Ha recorded another top-20 finish for USF. She tied for 14th with a 4-over 220 (75-70-76). Ha finished the tournament with 12 pars and a birdie on the par-3 10th hole.
Emily Laskin finished tied for 32nd with a 10-over 226 (75-77-74). She saved her best round for the final 18, going 2-over. She carded five birdies on the day, while moving up three spots on the leaderboard.
Fellow senior, Kimberly Liu moved up seven spots on the final day. She finished tied for 34th with an 11-over 227 (77-76-74). She also saved her best work for last, recording a birdie on the par-4 first tee and picked up 14 pars on the afternoon.
Samantha Gong finished tied for 38th with a 12-over 228 (77-77-74). The Dons' sophomore moved up six spots on the day after posting a 2-over, 74. She recorded three birdies on the afternoon giving her 11 for the tournament.
Freshman Joan Soewondo finished tied for 50th with a 16-over 232 (75-81-76). She moved up four sports after recording four birdies to finished four over.
COACHES QUOTES
"We certainly had a better day today shooting 298," said head coach Sara Doell. "The entire team played more consistently. Although It was nice to see us improve each round, we have not yet reached our potential. This week we will spend some time on our short game to prepare for the Bruin/ Wave!"

- The Dons were excellent on the par-4 and par-5's this tournament. USF finished tied for fourth in both categories with an average score of 4.15 on the par-4s at +22. On par-5s they averaged 5.02 and was plus-one.
- USF carded 158 pars on the tournament and 36 birdies.
- Vanessa Ha owned the par-5s. She finished with a tournament best average score of 4.67 for 4-under.
- Kimberly Liu was fifth on the par-4s with an average score of 4.0 going even for the tournament. Her 38 pars were sixth best among all players.
- Samantha Gong's 11 birdies was tied for sixth most in the tournament. Vanessa Ha finished tied for 11th with nine birdies.
