SAN FRANCISCO – First year head coach
Sara Doell is closing out her first year at the helm of the University of San Francisco women's golf team. Doell, who comes to USF by way of Seton Hall, and the Dons are participating in the West Coast Conference Championships next week.
In this week's spotlight on Doell, featured in the latest episode of USF's cable television show "Behind the Mask", she discusses coming from a larger program to a mid-major, how starting a new golf program is helping her here, and the culture she is creating on the Hilltop.
The Dons are currently 81
st in the nation according to Golfstat.com and three-straight tournaments with top-three finishes. Under her guidance, a trio of Dons' seniors are having career years, led by
Vanessa Ha who boasts a tournament victory and shot a believed program best 8-under 64 at the Sacramento State Invitational.
USF will travel to Santee, Calif., to participate in the West Coast Conference Championships next week at the Carlton Oaks Golf Course.
