Women's Golf Opens Season at the Leadership and Golf Invitational

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – The University of San Francisco women's golf team opened the season with a 12th-place team finish with a 32-over-par 896 at the Leadership and Golf Invitational Tuesday afternoon at Chambers Bay Golf Course.

TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
San Francisco returns to the Pacific Northwest when it competes in the Kalispel Invitational, hosted by Gonzaga, on Monday, Sept. 21 – Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Kalispel Golf Club.

TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
- Melia Gustavson paced the way for San Francisco throughout the two-day event, finishing in a tie for 23rd out of 92 competitors, her second-career top-25 finish, with a five-over-par 221 (77-71-73). Shooting a one-under-par 71 in the second round, Gustavson totaled three of her seven birdies, with two coming on the back nine.
- Climbing 13 spots on the player leaderboard in the final round of the tournament, Erica Villegas earned a tie for 33rd place with an eight-over-par 224 (75-75-74). Jillian Leh also rose the ranks during the third round, tying Villegas for 33rd place. Leh led the Dons and ranked tied for sixth in total birdies with 11, the most in a single tournament in her career.
- Emily Guan, competing in her first-ever collegiate tournament, placed in a tie for 55th and shot an 11-over-par 227 (73-79-75), while Rodaylin Mina completed the scoring for the green and gold with a 31-over-par 247 (85-82-80) and finished in 87th place.
