Three Dons Earn All-Conference Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco women's golf team was well represented on the annual West Coast Conference All-Conference Team as announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon.  Earning all-conference accolades were seniors Vanessa Ha and Emily Laskin, as well as sophomore Samantha Gong.

Ha, who turned in her third career top-10 finish at the West Coast Conference Championships down in Santee, Calif. this week, was selected to the All-West Coast Conference Team for her third time. Ha becomes the Don's first three-time honoree since Christina Stockton did it from 2008-10.

The senior from Oak Park, Calif., has played in all 10 events this year, leading the Dons in seven of those competitions.  Following the WCC Championships, she boasts a stroke average of 73.48, a career-best and tops on the team.  Ha boasts four top-10 finishes, she was seventh at the WCC Championships and was the individual champion at the Sacramento State Invitational on Mar. 19-20.

Fellow senior Emily Laskin had a career year.  The SAAC President appeared in all 10 events for the Dons, culminating in a top-20 finish at the WCC Championships where she took 16th.  Laskin recorded her first career top-10 finish at the Sacramento State Invitational when she finished tied for eighth.  Her stroke average of 76.14 is a career-best.

Samantha Gong's selection is her first all-conference accolade.  The Don's sophomore played in all 10 events and carded a stroke average of 75.17, a career-best.  Gong rose 10 spots from the first day to take 11th at the WCC Championships earlier this week.  She has led the Dons in two events, including an individual championship at the Meadow Club Women's Collegiate Mar. 5-6.

Kendra Dalton of BYU was named the WCC Player of the year for the second-straight year, while her teammate Naomi Soifua was named the Freshman of the Year.  Carrie Roberts of BYU takes home Coach of the Year honors for the second-straight year as well.
