WBB | Dons Unveil 2018-19 Schedule

SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco women's basketball team enters year three under head coach Molly Goodenbour and the Dons boast a strong 2018-19 schedule that includes three dates against NCAA Tournament teams, two Pac-12 opponents, as well as nine home conference games.

"We are looking forward to playing a few more home contests in the pre-season as we will be finishing off home-home agreements with UTA, Northern Colorado, SJSU and UC Davis, teams we faced on the road last season. We wanted to take a trip somewhere outside of our area so we are excited to have an opportunity to contest two quality opponents in the Stetson Classic.
As far as WCC season, it will be great to go back to consistent travel partners this year," said Goodenbour.

The Dons will play 11 non-conference games and will travel far and wide this season. USF opens up the year at home starting with an exhibition contest against Chico State on Saturday, Oct. 27.  They kick off the regular season on Friday, Nov. 9 when San Jose State makes a trip to the Hilltop. Highlighting the non-conference slate of games will be a trip to The Farm to take on Stanford.

USF will return to the Hilltop for three games, starting with a Sunday afternoon contest against Cal Poly on Nov. 18.  A week later, USF will host Northern Colorado on Friday, Nov. 23.  Northern Colorado is fresh off the programs first ever NCAA Tournament appearance last season after finishing the regular season 26-6 and capturing the Big Sky Tournament Championship. The Dons will finish the month of November and begin the month of December on a three-game road trip starting with a contest against Pac-12 opponent Washington State on Thursday, Nov. 29.  Last season, the Cougars edged the Dons 74-70 at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center. This year USF looks to return the favor at Beasley Coliseum in Pullman. The Dons will make the short trip east to Moscow, Idaho to take on the Vandals for a 2:00 p.m. tilt on Saturday, Dec. 1. USF wraps up the road trip in California's capital taking on Sacramento State on Wednesday, Dec. 5.

USF will play its final home non-conference game on Saturday, Dec. 15 when UC Davis comes to town for a 2:00 p.m. contest. The Dons will then get back on a plane and fly to DeLand, Fla., to participate in the 31st Annual Hatter Classic hosted by Stetson on Wednesday Dec. 19 and Friday, Dec. 21.  Opponents are to be determined.

The Dons open conference play with three-straight home contests starting with San Diego who comes to the Hilltop on Saturday, Dec. 29.  The Dons say goodbye to 2018 with a New Year's Eve contest against BYU on Monday, Dec. 31.  The Dons wrap up the homestand on Saturday, Jan. 5 against Bay Area rival Santa Clara.

USF then travels to sunny Southern California for a two-game road trip to Los Angeles and Malibu to take on LMU on Thursday Jan. 10 and Pepperdine on Saturday, Jan. 12.  The Dons return home for contests against Saint Mary's and Pacific on Thursday, Jan. 17 and Saturday, Jan. 19.

The Dons wrap up their first trip through the conference on the road in the Pacific Northwest when USF takes on defending WCC Champion Gonzaga on Thursday, Jan. 24 before taking on the Pilots in Portland on Saturday, Jan. 26.

USF wraps up the regular season on the road, first in Provo, Utah against BYU on Thursday, Feb. 28.  They will play their final game against San Diego on Saturday, Mar. 2 down in San Diego.

The Dons are coming off a 2017-18 season that saw USF go 16-15, including a 10-8 mark in the WCC, making Goodenbour the first coach in USF history to record back-to-back winning records overall and in conference play.  The Dons return just five players from last year's team, joining them will be a huge incoming class of eight freshman, including seven international players.
