USF AT A GLANCE
•  USF is 7-0 and one of 31 teams still undefeated in the NCAA.  The Dons are coming off an 89-73 win over visiting Hampton.  Friday's contest against the Rainbow Warriors is their second road game of the season and 11th game at Hawaii in the Dons' 93 year history.

• A win on Friday for the Dons will make them 8-0 for the first time since the 1981-82 season.

• More on the Streak: The Dons 7-0 start matches the 7-0 start by last year's team that lost in their 8th contest of the year in Northern Ireland against No. 21 Buffalo.  The 7-0 start is best since the 1981-82 season when USF opened the year 10-0.  The Dons have started 7-0 or better seven times.

• Coaching Connection: Head coach Todd Golden and UH's head coach Eron Ganot go back to Golden's playing days at Saint Mary's.  Ganot's first day as a graduate assistant at SMC was Golden's first day on campus as a freshman in 2004.

• Scoring Abundance:  The Dons led by Golden - the defensive coordinator from last year's team - this year the Dons are scoring.  A lot.  USF is averaging 88.9 points per game which ranks third in the NCAA.  USF is 25th in the nation in scoring margin at +19.6.

• Wire-to-Wire: In the last four contests and five times overall, USF has led wire-to-wire.  For the season, USF has led in all but 33:14 of the 285 minutes played this season.

• From Beyond the Arc:  The Dons - who set a USF single-game record for made 3-point field goals in the win over CSU Bakersfield going 19-for-25 - is fourth in the nation in made 3-point field goals per game, averaging 11.7 per contest.  The Dons rank fifth in the nation in total 3-point field goals made with 82 and are 8th with 219 3-point field goal attempts.  USF's 37.4 percent from long range ranks 59th in the nation.

• Historically Rare Company: The #GoldenEra is off to a fantastic start. First Year head coach Todd Golden's 7-0 start is matches William Bussenius won his first seven games in 1945-46 - in his only season as head coach - most of those wins came against local military opponents following World War II.

THE SERIES
Friday marks the 16th time the Dons and Rainbow Warriors have squared off with USF owning an 11-4 lead.  The series dates back to Nov. 30, 1960 when the Dons defeated UH 68-58 in the first of four meetings that season.  At Hawaii, USF is 6-4 all-time, their last contest in Honolulu came on Mar, 19, 2011 in the second round of the CIT Tournament, with the Dons winning 77-74.  The last time these two teams faced came in Estero, Fla., at the Gulf Coast Showcase hosted by Florida Gulf Coast - in that contest, the Dons defeated the road-weary Rainbow Warriors 88-73.

ABOUT THE RAINBOW WARRIORS
The Rainbow Warriors enter Friday's contest with a 4-2 overall record after defeating New Orleans 79-73 on Sunday.  At the Stan Sherrif Center UH is 4-1, their lone loss at home coming against South Dakota on Nov. 10.  As a team, Hawaii is averaging 71.2 points per game and shooting 45.2 percent from the field.  Their opponents are averaging 68.7 points per game and 40.8 percent from the field.  The Rainbow Warriors have struggled on the glass this year, getting out rebounded 207-192 - the average 32 rebounds a game while giving up 34.5 rebounds per contest. Four players are averaging better than 10 points a game and are led by Eddie Stansberry's team-high 19.0 ppg.

LAST TIME OUT VERSUS HAWAII
On Nov. 24, 2014 the Dons faced Hawaii at the Gulf Coast Showcase hosted by Florida Gulf Coast at Estero, Fla.  In that game the Dons came away with the 88-73 win over the Rainbow Warriors who were making the long trip to the East Coast.  The Dons had four players in double figures and were led by Tim Derksen's game-high 21 points.  Kruize Pinkins finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds - he was 11-14 from the free throw line in a game in his home state.

UP NEXT
The Dons will return home for back-to-back dates with the Pac-12.  On Tuesday the Dons will host Arizona State at 8:00 p.m.  They follow that up with another 8:00 p.m. tip when the California Golden Bears come to War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.  Both games will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.
