Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

MBB | Dons Down Tigers at Chase Center

SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco men's basketball team made themselves right at home at the Chase Center on Saturday evening, defeating Princeton (0-2) 82-72.  The Dons (2-0) had four players finish in double figures led by Jamaree Bouyea's career-high 19 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The two sides spent the early part of the first half feeling each other out.  Princeton took a five point lead midway through the first half when Richmond Aririguzoh made a three throw to complete a three-point play to go up 21-16.

• The Dons chipped away at the narrow deficit and closed out the first half on an 11-3 run and Jimbo Lull scored two of his six first half points in a last second layup to send the Dons into the locker room up 41-35. Jamaree Bouyea led all scorers with 13 points on the opening half.

• In the opening half, the Tigers shot 52 percent from the field going 13-for-25 and from beyond the arc they were 4-for-8.  The Dons countered by shooting 46.2 percent from the floor, but could not find their touch from long range, going 4-for-13 in the first half.

• In the second half, the Dons played strong on ball defense and did not allow as many open looks to the Tigers.  Princeton finish the second half shooting just 39.4 percent, going 13-for-33.  USF helped put the game away by getting 11 second chance points.  Lull was a big part of that as he finished the night with a double-double scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds – eight of his boards came on offense.

• Joining Lull and Bouyea in double figures was Charles Minlend who had 16 and Jordan Ratinho who had 15.
