SAN FRANCISCO — In the latest edition of USF's new video feature "Inside Perspective," Charles Wollin sits down with former University of San Francisco women's volleyball standout
Malina Terrell. The two discuss her transformation into a world class professional volleyball player, fighting challenges and her inspirations off and on the volleyball court.
Â
The new video segment by
Katie Morgan, the Dons' Emmy award winning Director of Creative Video, with collaborative help from
Woo Nguyen, USF's Creative Media Specialist, is hosted by Charles Wollin.
Â
Each episode, Wollin will sit down with key members of the Dons' athletics family, including prominent members of the department, current student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and alumni, to discuss their lives in and around athletics outside the lines of competition.
Â
In this episode, we are reintroduced to one of the most dominant players in USF volleyball history. Terrell was a two-time all-West Coast Conference honoree, including a first team nod in 2011. She went on to play professionally internationally, which included stints in Finland, Germany, Denmark and Puerto Rico. She most recently signed with the French club Beziers.
Â
Terrell, who hails from Richmond, also talks about her many inspirations, including her mother, who was one of the first black women to work as a firefighter. Terrell discusses her charity work off the court, and her time returning to The Hilltop.
