IRVINE, Calif. — The University of San Francisco's men's tennis team took care of business in doubles play, with duos
Ryan Marker and
Paul Giraud won in a tiebreaker and
Oz Daniel and
Phuc Huynh closed out their doubles competition with determination. But, it wasn't enough when UC Irvine fought back in singles to clinch a 4-1 victory, Saturday afternoon at the Irvine Tennis Complex.
Marker and Giraud started out the the match with a 7-6(4), 0-3 victory over Irvine's Smolicki and Bajpai followed by Huynh and Daniel who took down their opponents, Handsen and Gealer, 6-3. Singles play was not in favor for the Dons when all six Ant Eaters found their way to a victories to seal the win.
