SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — The University of San Francisco's women's tennis team takes its first West Coast Conference road trip up North to Gonzaga and Portland on Friday and Saturday.

About San Francsico
  • USF is 8-6 overall and 1-1 in the WCC - fifth in conference. 
  • Last week, USF fell to Saint Mary's 4-0 and downed Pacific 4-3. Freshman Rita Colyer highlighted the match versus Pacific after clinching the Dons victory, 4-3 at No. 5, 7-6, 6-4.
  • Emily Maxfield leads the team with a 11-1 record at No. 2 followed by Mya Bui who is dominant at No. 1 with a 9-5 record. 
  • The No. 1 pairing of Maxfield and Bui record a team-best 7-3 doubles record and are 1-1 in conference play.
  • The last time the Dons defeated the Bulldogs was during the 2015-16 season, 4-2 at the Olympic Club. The Dons own a 11-2 advantage over the Bulldogs dating back to the 2005-06 season. 
  • The Dons lead the Pilots with a 7-3 overall record dating back to the 2008-09 season. Last season, the Dons took down Portland, 4-3 at home. 
About Gonzaga 
  • The Bulldogs are 6-8 overall and is seventh in conference with their 1-2 record. 
  • During the middle of the season, Gonzaga defeated Santa Clara, 4-0 on March 3. Last week, the Bulldogs fell to BYU, 2-4 and San Diego, 3-4. 
  • Gonzaga is 74-53 (.583) in singles play. Sophie Whittle leads the team with a 23-8 singles record. Whittle is 9-4 at No. 1, and 14-4 in tour. Domonique Garley is 11-8, collecting most of her wins in tour, 6-1 and the No. 3 spot, 5-6. Garciela Rosas records an 11-7 singles record. Rosas is 5-6 at No. 2 and 5-1 in tour. 
  • In doubles play, Whittle and Rosas lead the entire team with a 10-1 record at No. 1.
About Portland 
  • The Pilots are 6-7 overall and is eighth in conference with their 1-2 record. 
  • Portland's two conference losses this season was against BYU, 1-4 and San Diego, 0-4 followed by its only win against Santa Clara, 4-3. 
  • Angela Schuster is the leader in singles play with a 16-8 record. Shuster is 6-0 at No. 6. 
  • The duo Laura Okazaki and Angela Schuster is 7-6 overall. The pairing is 6-5 at No. 3.
