Friday afternoon was certainly a battle between San Francisco and Pepperdine when both teams fought to the very last set of the match.

San Francisco took the doubles point at No. 1 and 3. The excitement began when Phuc Huynh and David Woodland recorded their first win as a duo at No. 3 when they cruised past Sborowitz and Janowiak, 6-2. Moments later, Pepperdine's Rico and Summaria defeated Romeo Jivraj and Nitzan Ricklis, 6-3, but the Dons retaliated when Marker and Paul Giraud took down Zeitvogel and Oetzbach, 6-4 to take the 1-0 lead.

Singles competition was performed as a seasaw effect when Pepperdine's Sborowitz defeated Huynh in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 to tie the match 1-1. Ricklis notched his 10th singles win at No. 2 defeating Summaria, 6-3, 6-2, to put the Dons on top, 2-1. Jivraj and Zeitvogel went head-to-head at No. 5, but it was Zeitvogel who posted the 6-3, 6-2 win. The match took a rise when Giraud competed in a hard fought battle against Rico and ran away with a 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 victory in the No. 3 spot. David Woodland dominated his second set of a three-set battle, but wasn't able to pull away in the third to Janowiak, 4-6, 6-3, 4-6 at No. 6.

Marker then clinched the dual at No. 1 after escaping with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 well-deserved victory over Oetzbach.
