FINAL RESULTS
DES MOINES, Iowa — The University of San Francisco track team played a big part Friday and Saturday in one of the premiere relay meets in the world, setting program records and season bests in multiple relays at the 110th running of the Drake Relays at Drake Stadium.

The Dons shined brightest in the distance medley, where they finished third in a field of some of the best teams in the country. The Dons were just under four seconds behind race winner Oklahoma State with a time of 11 minutes, 19.08 seconds. The team of
Sadi Henderson,
Samantha Lind,
Alena Ulrichova and
Dana Klein to a top-three finish, beating out the likes of Power-5 programs Iowa State, Minnesota, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa and Kentucky.

"The 4x800 and DMR were a lot of fun," said San Francisco head coach
Pat McCurry. "We mixed it up with some of best in the country and came up just short."

San Francisco also set a program record in the 4x800 meter relay, finishing fourth in 8:40.61. The also very competitive event was won by Oklahoma State in a meet record time of 8:25.41.
Emma Stahr joined Ulrichova, Henderson and Klein in the relay.

"The DMR was very close," added McCurry. "Dana just got edged out by two of the best milers in the country on the anchor. She raced nearly perfectly. Sam Lind was spectacular on the DMR, posting the fastest 400 split of the field.

"It was a great experience for our young student-athletes and great memories for our seniors."

Ulrichova ran a third 800 in the meet, posting a personal best time of 2:09.04 in the open 800 and finishing third in the unseeded field, less than two seconds behind the race winner.
Josephine Brysting ran in the 10,000 meters on Thursday night, finishing in the top-10 with a time of 36:08.26, good for seventh place.

The USF sprinters also got in the action at the Drake relays.

Faith Cardenas,
Maya Shaw and
Julija Praprotnik teamed together to run the 4x200 meter relay, and
Hannah Esparza and Stahr joined Cardenas and Shaw to run the 1,600 meter sprint medley.

The San Francisco men and women next compete at the elite Portland Twilight meet on Friday.
