FINAL RESULTS

PORTLAND, Ore. —
The middle distance events shined under the lights Friday as the University of San Francisco men's and women's track teams both turned in season bests and another top-three all-time program mark at the Portland Twilight meet at Lewis & Clark College's Griswold Stadium.

The USF men's performance in the 1,500 meters was the most impressive of the evening, as the Dons grabbed four of the top six spots and four of the top five among collegiate finishers. All four Dons broke the 3 minutes, 50 seconds mark in the same heat to dominate the event. It was Hugh Nicklason and Chris Olley going 1-2 for the Dons, with Nicklason finishing in 3:48.37 and Olley right behind him at 3:48.72.

Jack Rowe was the third Don to cross the line, taking fifth overall in 3:49.20. Scott Halsted was also a part of the green and gold wave washing over the top of the results in the 1,500, finishing sixth overall with a time of 3:49.45.

Dana Klein turned in another outstanding performance for USF, this time running a top-three all-time program mark in the women's 1,500. She finished third overall in 4:16.82, just three seconds behind the race winner, for the third-fastest time in the event in USF history.

Sadi Henderson continued her march towards the NCAA postseason with another blazing time in the women's 800. She finished fourth in a loaded field with a time of 2:05.01. Alena Ulrichova also improved her position for a possible NCAA West Regional berth by lowering her time in the 800 to 2:08.53.

San Francisco also had multiple entrants in the 5,000. The women grabbed two top-10 finishes with Josephine Brysting finishing fourth in 17:11.94, and Josien Sheepens finishing eighth in 17:37.72. Caleb McClain led the men in the 5 km in 15:15.99. Jacob Hernandez finished in 15:23.95.

One more meet for the Dons on the regular season schedule, as the team will travel to Southern California on May 11 for the Oxy Classic at Occidental College.
