KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Six members of the University of San Francisco men's basketball team have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court as announced by the NABC this morning.
Earning the honor are graduated seniors
Matt McCarthy and
Nate Renfro along with
Jordan Ratinho,
Jimbo Lull,
Charles Minlend, and
Remu Raitanen. To be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must but a junior or senior academically, a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher and a member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
McCarthy, Renfro, Ratinho, Lull, and Minlend all earned WCC All-Academic honors earlier this year. McCarthy a kinesiology major, finished with a 3.41 GPA. Renfro, Ratinho and Lull are all business administration majors with a 3.81, 3.85, and 3.51 GPA's respectively. Raitanen, an international business major, finished the year with a 3.85 GPA. Minlend, a business and finance major, finished with a 3.49 GPA.
The Dons excelled in the classroom as a team in 2018-19. USF posted a team GPA of 3.314 for the year with 12 players recording a 3.0 or higher – including six with a 3.7 or higher.
