"It was a great summer for our guys," said head coach Jack Kennedy.  "We had guys competing on the PGA tour, we had guys competing in the US Am, winning European team championships, playing at a really high level all summer.  It was really exciting to get them back on campus and get the fall under way.  We had a really intense two weeks of qualifying for this first event and I'm really excited to get this season under way."

The Course
The Carpet Capital Collegiate is played at The Farm Golf Club, the 6,896-yard, par-72 course designed by Tom Fazio, located in Rocky Face, Ga., just outside the city of Dalton in Northwest Georgia. The tournament takes its name from the city, which is home to some of the largest carpet manufacturers in the world. The Farm has been recognized as one of the nation's premier modern facilities.

The Field
The 14 team field consists is teams from the ACC, SEC, American conference. The Dons will square off against eight teams that finished in the top-50 in the final Golfstat ranking.

"The biggest thing we try to do with our schedule every year is to try and get guys prepared to play in the NCAA Regionals," said Kennedy.  "This weekend, is literally an NCAA Regional with schools from the SEC, ACC and teams we don't normally see.  It's a great way to measure ourselves early in the season and see where we really stand."

The Dons
The Dons bring back a loaded and talented roster.  Every member of last year's team is back including senior Tim Widing who became just the third player in USF history to be named to the First Team All-WCC team in three-consecutive years.  Widing last appeared for the Dons at the NCAA Pullman Regional where he finished tied for third.  Joining the Dons' senior is junior's Soren Lind and Alex Chin and sophomores Matthew Anderson and Christoffer Palsson.
