SAN FRANCISCO - The University of San Francisco men's tennis team clinched its match today against Boise State, 4-0, at the Cal Club. The Dons are now 4-4 on the season.
"The Dons, as a whole, were tough and didn't lose their focus the entire match," said head coach
Pablo Pires de Almeida. "I was impressed with the way our guys let the bad points go and celebrated the good points to create more momentum."Â
The doubles point was clinched early by the Dons when pairs
Mitch Johnson and
Phuc Huynh (6-3), and
Ori Maior and
Paul Giraud (6-4) defeated their opponents.Â
In singles, the Dons were quick to secure their victory when Giraud (6-4, 6-4), Maior (6-2, 6-2) and Huynh (6-2, 2-6, 6-2) all found wins on their courts. Because USF clinched the match 4-0, the rest of singles went unfinished.
