BERKELEY, Calif. - It was a tough day on the courts for the University of San Francisco men's tennis team as it dropped its match today against California, 0-4.
"I have to give credit to Cal today for playing better tennis," said head coach
Pablo Pires de Almeida. "The Dons will learn from this match and take it into practice this week."
The doubles point was clinched by Cal when doubles pairs
Phuc Huynh and
Mitch Johnson (2-6), and
Paul Giraud and
Ori Maior (1-6) fell on their courts.
Nitzan Ricklis and
Johan Garpered's match went unfinished at 4-4.
Unfortunately, the Dons couldn't find a win in singles either as Ricklis (0-6, 1-6) and Johnson (1-6, 1-6) dropped their matches. Garpered also fell 2-6, 1-6 and since Cal had clinched the 4-0 win, the rest of the singles went unfinished.
