PORTLAND, Ore. — The University of San Francisco track team turned in another solid tune-up meet Sunday at the Portland Indoor II meet, as it prepares for the home stretch of the indoor season later this month.

The Dons earned 10 top-10 finishes on the day in the short and middle distances. Freshman
Baneet Bains was the first collegiate finisher in the mile with a runner-up finish in 5 minutes, 1.03 seconds. She finished only behind USF alumna and current director of operations
Dana Klein. Fellow newcomers
Eve Jensen (7th, 5:10.95) and
Katherine Badham (8th, 5:10.98) were also among the top-10 in the mile.

Kalii Caldwell finished 11th in the mile in 5:13.11. MacKenzie Yanek made her season and USF career debut with a 12th-place finish in the mile with a time of 5:13.52.

Julija Praprotnik broke the 60-seconds mark and finished fourth in the 400 with a time of 59.55 seconds. Freshman
Willa Gibson was right behind her in fifth in 1:00.28. The Dons also had a large group in the 200 led by freshman
Evelyn How, who placed fifth in 26.54. Classmates
Rayne Anwar (6th, 26.60) and
Sarah Marske (8th, 26.92) also finished among the top-10.
