WGOLF | Dons Take Seventh at Juli Inkster at Meadow Club

FAIRFAX, Calif. – The University of San Francisco women's golf finished tied for seventh place after shooting an 18-over 306 in the final round of the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club. The Dons finished the two-day tournament with a 29-over 893 (292-395-306).Â

"I'm very proud of the fight in this team," said head coach Sara Doell. "While we didn't quite get it done today, we identified a few areas that we can work on to prepare for our next event as we look forward towards the rest of our spring."

The 893 is the third-best 54-hole score for the Dons this season, who had three players crack the top-25 with Pearl Rojanapeansatith finishing tied for eighth, her second top-10 finish this season.Â

The Dons' junior continues to play the best golf of her career, she finished the two day tournament with a 3-over 219 (71-71-77). Her back-to-back 71s are the first time in her career she's posted two-consecutive rounds under par. She carded three birdies on the day to give her 11 for the tournament, a career best for birdies in a 54-hole tournament, besting the 10 she recorded at least year's BYU at Entrada.  Â

Annika Borrelli came in second for the Dons. She finished with a 6-over 222 (70-77-75). Samantha Gong finished in third for USF, the senior co-captain finished tied for 23rd with an 8-over 224 (74-73-77).

Toni Sottile finished tied for 52nd with a 17-over 233 (80-74-79), behind her by one stroke was Jade Siphomsay who finished in 54th with an 18-over 234 (77-80-77).

Hannah Zeman competed as an individual and captured a tie at 58th with a 20-over 236 (78-80-78).

Oregon State took home the individual title with a 7-over 871. The Beavers shot a 4-under 284 on the day – the only team to record a round under par on the final day. Washington State teammates Marie Lund-Hansen and Amy Chu tied for the individual title.

The Dons will return to action on Monday, Mar. 30 for the Fresno State Tournament hosted by the Bulldogs at the Copper River Country Club in Fresno, Calif.
