Tuesday Testimonials | Huey Thomas

SAN FRANCISCO – A familiar presence on the sideline at USF men's basketball games, Huey Thomas is one of the program's most vocal supporters. He also remembers a much-different era of Dons basketball, one where he served as point guard for a Dons team that made three straight NCAA tournament runs. In this week's edition of Tuesday Testimonials, USF Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director, Frank Allocco, sits down with Thomas to talk about his successes on the court and his magnetic attraction to the Hilltop since his graduation.

Thomas gives credence to his roots, first growing up in the South and then transitioning to Los Angeles. He goes on to talk about what the Hilltop was like when he first stepped foot on campus as a freshman.

He describes the four goals the Dons set for the entire roster, all of which they achieved, how their defense was their standout quality, and what it meant to him when their roster was enshrined in the USF Hall of Fame at the annual Hall of Fame Dinner in February, 2020.

As the first person in his family to graduate from a University, Thomas delves into his memories of seeing his family at graduation and how he felt about receiving a diploma, both then and now. He concludes the segment by talking about USF's importance to him.
