Dons From Distance | Former Tennis Players Marina Nikolic and Andrea Ka

SAN FRANCISCO – Marina Nikolic and Andrea Ka formed one of the most dynamic playing tandems in the history of the women's tennis program.  In the final Dons From Distance this season, Director of Creative Video Katie Morgan catches up with the two tennis icons.

Nikolic, the Serbian Bay Area native, and Ka, who hails from Cambodia, made a powerful one-two punch for former head coach Hilary Somers.  The two open the segment discussing their special chemistry on court, that saw the duo earn back-to-back First Team All-WCC doubles honors.

They go on to discuss the Dons' success on the court in that 2015 season, a year in which USF took third in the WCC and finished ranked in the ITA Northwest Regional rankings. On March 10 that year the Dons were ranked 39th in the ITA polls, the highest ITA ranking in program history, with three players nationally ranked in singles play over the course of the season.

This will be the final Dons From Distance this season – the series will resume following the 2020-21 athletic season.  Beginning soon, Morgan and her team will transition towards stories about the upcoming seasons.  They will first introduce a new series where they detail the newcomers of the men's and women's basketball programs.
