SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- USF women's golf head coach Sara Doell is pleased to announce the signing of two new student-athletes for her 2022 class: Jolie Chee of Honolulu, Hawaii and Eva Pett of Denver, Colo.
Chee played varsity golf all four years of high school while qualifying for the IMG Junior World Championship four years in a row (2017-21). During her time in high school, Chee has won events sponsored by SDJGA, FCG, OJGA and JGAH and participated in the 2021 Mary Cave Cup.
"I am excited to welcome Jolie to the Dons family as she is absolutely a strong fit four our culture," Doell said. "She works hard on the golf course and in the classroom and loves to compete all while having fun in the process. I watched her compete this past summer and I'm excited about her competitive yet calm nature on the course. Once she came to campus to visit and saw the opportunities here at USF, she was extremely excited to commit to our program! I look forward to seeing how Jolie steps in as a freshman and makes an impact."
Pett meanwhile most recently won the Wolfpack Classic hosted by North Carolina State, and has spent her high school years both in the U.S. and U.K. training for collegiate competition. During her time in the States, Pett was selected to the 2019 1st All-State team in golf while also being selected as a Junior Golf Alliance Colorado Academic All Star three years in a row from 2017-19.
"Eva came along to us late in the recruiting process as she came to watch us compete in Denver this past fall and she liked the attitude and culture she saw on our team," Doell explained. "Once I had a call with her, she then came on campus for a visit to meet the team and I immediately knew she was a fit! She has a strong resume despite being sidelined for quite some time during COVID as she was in London where COVID restrictions provided little opportunity for her to compete. After speaking with her recruiter and finding out how talented she really is and the potential she has, I know that Eva can come in and immediately make an impact on our program. Welcome to the Dons family, Eva!"
