SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- After a dominant win on Thursday, the USF Dons women's basketball team (2-1) is back in action for their final home non-conference game of the season as they welcome the Northern Colorado Bears (1-2) to War Memorial at the Sobrato Center Sunday afternoon.
The Dons got back on track Thursday evening with their defense playing a key role in forcing the Aggies into 26 turnovers and a 32% shooting percentage. USF received strong offensive performances from guards
Ioanna Krimili and
Jasmine Gayles who each scored 21 points in the win.

RETURNING TO FORM:
- Thursday night was a much needed show of force for the Dons following their loss to Cal last weekend. USF led wire-to-wire and brought great defensive intensity throughout, including Amalie Langer picking up guards full court.
- Langer's work on the defensive end included a new career-high with six steals against the Aggies.
- Gayles was an early spark off the bench for the Dons as she scored 13 of her 21 points during the first 20 minutes of play.
- Krimili caught fire in the second half scoring all of her points after halftime while knocking down three triples to continue her climb up the program's shooting leaders.
- Lucija Kostic did a little bit of everything for USF on Thursday scoring four points, grabbing four boards and dishing three assists while finishing with a team high +24 in 21 minutes of play.
THINGS TO KNOW:
- USF most recently played Northern Colorado in Greeley during the 2019-20 season, when the Dons picked up a 90-83 victory on the road.
- Krimili had a standout performance last team she faced the Bears, scoring 32 points to go along with four steals and four rebounds.
- Abby Rathbun had 10 points and Kia Vaalavirta contributed four points as well in the road victory over Northern Colorado.
- Gayles played her previous two years for the Bears and scored 11 points against USF in the team's previous matchup.
SCOUTING THE BEARS:
- Northern Colorado has stumbled early on in their season with two early road losses to Arizona State and Colorado State before picking up their first win at home against Texas Rio Grande Valley their last time out.
- UNC's offense is led by sophomore guard Hannah Simental who leads the Bears averaging 12.0 PPG so far early in the season.
- In the front court, junior forward Kurstyn Harden is leading Northern Colorado with 6.0 REB per game to go along with three blocked shots.
